A Message from Our President & CEO

2025 marked a defining moment in the history of the Schwarzman Animal Medical Center.

Dear Friends of AMC,

2025 marked a defining moment in the history of the Schwarzman Animal Medical Center.

After four years, three major phases of construction, and our largest renovation in more than 60 years, we officially opened the doors to a fully reimagined hospital — without ever closing to the patients and families who rely on us every day. This extraordinary transformation reflects a bold commitment to the future of veterinary medicine while honoring AMC’s long-standing mission of exceptional care, education, and research.

Inside our newly renovated facility, patients now benefit from an expanded Emergency & Critical Care Service — New York City’s only Level I Veterinary Trauma Center — an upgraded Intensive Care Unit, state-of-the-art specialty spaces, and our new, cutting-edge Denise & Michael Kellen Institute for Surgical Care. These purpose-designed environments allow our teams to work with greater efficiency, collaboration, and precision, ensuring that when pets arrive in crisis, they receive care without compromise.

But AMC’s impact extends far beyond bricks and mortar. In 2025, our teams facilitated nearly 60,000 patient visits, advanced peer-reviewed research, trained future veterinary leaders, and provided $4.53 million in charitable care to animals and families in need. This year, we also expanded our research capabilities by welcoming a full-time AI engineer to our team, strengthening our ability to translate data analysis into meaningful advances in patient care. Through the Usdan Institute for Animal Health Education, we also continued to connect communities to trusted, science-based resources that strengthen the human–animal bond.

This report reflects the dedication, resilience, and expertise of AMC’s staff as well as the commitment of our generous donors. I am deeply grateful to everyone who made it possible to care for patients throughout this ambitious project and to those who continue to shape AMC’s impact every day.

Thank you for being part of this new era at the Schwarzman Animal Medical Center.

Sincerely,
